Administrator-Scheduler (Community Transport)
Full-time: £9.00ph (job share and part-time considered)
Location: Tiptree, Essex
We are looking to recruit a positive organised person to our Scheduling team, to help provide administrative support so that our transport service meets the needs of our members.
Duties are diverse and include administering bookings, organising driver schedules, allocating drivers to vehicles, database management and dealing with public enquiries both face to face and on the telephone.
You would be joining a friendly team of ‘can-do’ people who work together to provide an excellent service.
The successful candidate will have proven administrative experience, excellent communication, time management and organisational skills, the ability to work with a diverse range of people, and a commitment to providing a service to meet the needs of the project. The ideal candidate must be willing to work across multiple locations including Tiptree (main base) Colchester and Maldon.

About Community Transport
Our Community Transport scheme improves access to services, activities and facilities in both Colchester, Maldon and surrounding villages, for people with limited mobility (be it through permanent or temporary disablement, illness, accident or age). By doing so, the scheme also tackles isolation and boosts independence. Lack of accessible transport can be a barrier to disabled and elderly people accessing GP surgeries and other social and welfare facilities.
Minibus Drivers required – Zero hours
Scale of £8.50 – £12.00 per hour (dependent on day)
We are looking for dedicated drivers to be based within our Community Transport Scheme to transport patients who have been discharged from Colchester hospital and require transport either direct to their home; care homes, or indeed any destination dictated by the hospital within North East Essex. The job holder is required to drive one of our minibuses and ensure all safety guidelines are followed at all times. Additionally you will be responsible for liaising with the schedulers, ensuring that all information is recorded accurately. MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) training is provided and a DBS check will be required.
Hours will vary and cover is required for daytime, evenings and weekends, seven days a week including bank holidays.
We need experienced minibus drivers to help us fulfil this role. An empathetic, caring nature is paramount and the ability to recognise if other support services could be suggested or are required.
The Ideal Candidate will:
- Possess prior experience of driving a minibus
- Have excellent customer relationship and communication skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels
- Hold a full clean UK driving license
- Be aged 25 years or over in order to be covered by Fleet Insurance
- Have a good knowledge of the local area
- Be willing to go the extra mile and have a flexible approach.
