Strategy is all about purpose. It helps you to focus on things and make better decisions. It is more important than ever for charities to adapt their strategies to support their work and respond to new challenges. We want to support your visions.
One of the key aims of Community Development is to enable local voluntary organisations to develop a sustainable future and to grow as and when required
We do this by working one-to-one to:
- Develop short, medium and long term strategies
- Update internal policies and procedures
- Identify partnerships for future work. This can include statutory and voluntary organisations
- Understand the local landscape, including service delivery, funding, and demographics.
- Write business plans
This service is bespoke and developed with each individual group.
Strategic support for LACE (Life After Cancer Essex)
Jo Hammond was diagnosed with stage 3 bladder cancer at the age of 49. Following treatment she decided she wanted to fill the gap in provision with regards to weekly social support groups and peer support which had been so helpful in rebuilding her emotional and physical health and wellbeing. This is when LACE; Life After Cancer Essex was created.
After celebrating the 1st Anniversary of LACE, with the help and strategic support from Community 360, Jo formed a Community Interest Company (CIC) supporting anybody affected by cancer in Essex. C360 helped Jo complete the necessary paperwork and the resulting CIC status has enabled Jo to benefit from funding more easily enabling her to develop the group’s benefits.
LACE offers opportunities for sociable gatherings through a ‘walk and talk group’. The group provides the opportunity to be with others who have been through similar situations and ‘get it’ as well as providing support and encouragement of individual’s unique journeys.
