We want to further community
engagement undertaken to date

Heart of Greenstead is one of several projects that will be included within the successful Town Deal grant, led by local partnership ‘We Are Colchester’. The programme is supported by a £6 million investment from Government’s Town Deal funding in Colchester.

C360 are co-ordinating activities and facilitating roles for residents as Heart of Greenstead ambassadors, to ensure that local voices are heard, and local people have an active role in the development of proposed improvements to the capital infrastructure in the centre of Greenstead.

We now want to further community engagement undertaken to date; this is vital to the success of the project and would love to hear thoughts and ideas for the future. This is your chance to be part of an improvement project, with members meeting once a month. To find out more, get in touch.

An example of a
Greenstead community event

A winter warmer event took place at Elim Church, Greenstead which was organised by Les Nicoll, who runs the N.E.S.T (North Essex Support Team) charity. The charity helps struggling families and individuals in the community and is a partner in One Colchester running a series of activities and events in the local area.

Over the years they have given away more than 150,000 items of preloved warm clothing, bedding, shoes, and boots. All recycled and distributed to several thousand families and individuals in need in local communities.

This has been achieved by the tremendous hard work, determination, passion and the unbelievable generosity of friends and neighbours. This is a simple format, creating the opportunity for the community to get immediate and practical help, as well as signposting to other support agencies and charities.

The Winter Packs, a crucial part of the One Colchester campaign was also given out at the event and will this year include a guide to local support services, including signposting to social groups, and contain practical items, such as clothing, basic refreshments, a torch, blanket and flask and will be distributed to those identified as being in need by partnership members.
