Colne Radio CIC is looking for someone to project manager a three-year Community Radio Project in North East Essex funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Colne Radio is the community radio station for the area, run by volunteers and broadcasting both on FM and online.

Colne Radio have been awarded a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to run short courses in radio and podcasting to help build confidence and communication skills for people in their broadcast area whose voices are heard less often.

The Project, called ‘Finding Your Voice’, will run for three years, and include further training for anyone who comes on the workshops to work alongside experienced Colne Radio presenters on future courses.

The Project Manager should be able to show clear project management skills and have experience of monitoring and evaluating projects. They should have good connections within community groups in the broadcast area, show excellent organisation and communication skills, and be able to demonstrate delivery of impact and change. An understanding of radio/podcasting would be an advantage but not essential.

An annual fee of £27,000, payable monthly, and fixed for three years, is being offered on a self-employed basis. The role is open to a job share. This is a fixed term project and the successful applicant will be responsible for their own tax, national insurance and time management.
