On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July Colchester Sports Park and Leisure World Colchester will be offering a fun-filled weekend of activities for all the family, as part of Colchester’s Year of Celebration.
Throughout 2023, Colchester is celebrating its new city status with a programme of fantastic events throughout this historic year in Colchester’s history! On Saturday, 8 July and Sunday, 9 July, Colchester Sports Park and Leisure World Colchester will be joining in the celebrations with the return of the Festival of Fun.
There’ll be family-friendly activities taking place all day at the fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities, with activities at Colchester Sports Park on Saturday, 8 July and at Leisure World Colchester on Sunday, 9 July.
At Colchester Sports Park, there’ll be the chance to try out the pump track and one-mile cycle track with a host of cycling activities for just £2, and the chance to watch British Cycling races. There’ll also be access to the state-of-the-art Activa Gym and a chance to try out fitness classes for just £2 each, alongside the excitement of football and karate demonstrations, soft play and football darts! People will also be able to explore 76-acre open spaces surrounding the Sports Park, bounce on inflatables and trampolines, get their faces painted, enjoy craft coffee from Paddy and Scott’s Coffee Shop and much more.
On Sunday, 9 July there’ll then be a host of activities taking place at Leisure World Colchester, including trampolining, bouncy castles, sports demonstrations, and a chance to try out the Activa gym for FREE! There’ll also be a water polo tournament, free badminton coaching, and a chance to try out our adult with child swimming lessons.

“With lots of different activities for all ages, it’s a great way to show people everything our sports facility in the city have to offer, as well as encouraging people to get active. It promises to be a brilliant weekend.”
