Deputy PFCC Listens to young people about value of 1Up Youth Project
Young people in Basildon spoke of the value of a youth project, supported with PFCC funding, during a visit by the Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
Jane Gardner, Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, last week visited the 1Up project in Southernhay Youth Centre, Basildon.
1Up project is a multi-disciplinary group which strives to help young people reach their potential through education and social inclusion.
Jane Gardner, Deputy PFCC, said: “To visit 1Up and to listen to these young people was an honour and an inspiration.
“The high regard in which they hold the 1Up project was very evident and the project completely supports our priorities to reduce violence, protect vulnerable people and further invest in crime prevention.”
The project has been set up in Basildon with PFCC Violence and Vulnerability funding and support from the Active Essex Foundation.
