Grants of £1,000 will soon be available to community groups across the UK to start offering football or expand their existing provision to under-represented young people.
The Barclays Community Football Fund will primarily support girls and young people in deprived or underrepresented areas through local organisations to reduce inequalities in the participation in sport and physical activity.
This includes culturally diverse communities, young people with disabilities, and young people from the LGBTQ+ community.
The funding can be used to cover costs such as:
- venue hire including floodlights / heating
- coaching costs
- volunteer expenses
- equipment
- kit
- marketing and communications
- training and qualifications
- insurances and affiliation
The fund will be open to applications from the 12th February 2024 until the 12th April 2024, but may close earlier if a high volume of eligible applications are received.
