Youth Music, which is a national charity that aims to give every young person the chance to make, learn and earn in music has announced that it has updated and re-opened its Trailblazer and Catalyst Funds.

The Trailblazer Fund makes grants of between £2,000 to £30,000 for organisations that support children and young people facing barriers to make, learn and earn in music.

The Catalyser Fund makes grants of between £30,001 and £300,000 for established organisations that support children and young people to make, learn and earn in music.

Successful applications to both the Trailblazer and Catalyst Fund will need to meet one of Youth Music’s themes:

· Early years
· Disabled, d/Deaf and neurodivergent young people
· Youth justice system
· Young people facing barriers
· Young adults
· Organisations and the workforce.

School-based music curriculum activity is ineligible for funding unless in a special school, Pupil Referral Unit or Alternative Provision setting.

The next deadline for the Trailblazer fund is the 12th January 2024. The deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest for the Catalyst Fund is the 10th May 2024. Full applications to the Catalyst Fund need to be submitted by the 9th August 2024.
