Emily Sinfield recently signed-up to Braintree District Council’s co-working initiative and joined the community of small businesses at The Plaza in Great Notley about five months ago.

She is self-employed and works as a freelancer specialising in marketing and Facebook advertising.

She shared her thoughts with on the benefits of working away from home and within flexible and shared workspaces.

She said: “I’m really enjoying the space and the community feel here. I am far more productive and happier when working away from home and in an environment with other people. I like that I can work solo and have a sense of community at the same time. I’m meeting new people, networking and making lots of connections, but the space is big enough that I have my own privacy too. People are really friendly and I look forward to seeing everyone on the days that I’m signed-up to be here.”

Braintree District Council’s co-working initiative allows sole traders and the self-employed access to a free hot desk, three days a week for a year. The aim is to drive entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation, productivity and economic growth in local communities.
