Some of Braintree District Councils Officers have been working with some colleagues from Essex Police and Cllr Charley Dervish and have completed a Community Safety Impact Night in Witham on Friday 6 October.

They spoke to members of the public in a number of licensed premises in Newland Street and interacted with women who were using the night-time economy to understand their feelings and perceptions of safety.

The team also gave out free anti-spiking goodies such as reusable glass covers, reusable bottle covers and spiking test strips to members of the public as well as to licensed premises staff.

The Chelmsford SOS Bus, operated by Open Road, was also located along Newland Street for the evening to promote the services they offer.
