Are you financially savvy with a passion for giving back?  Anglian Community Trust (ACT) are looking for a dedicated, experienced Treasurer to join their board of trustees and help manage their finances.   This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting ACT, a UK based charity committed to its vision of “We will help you to create change to improve lives for the long term”.

 

Anglian Community Trust (ACT) was formed in 2014 to ‘promote and protect the social, mental and physical health, welfare and well-being of people in the community of North East Essex, and surrounding areas’.  Since that time ACT has distributed around £500,000 in donations to local charities and community groups.  There are exciting times ahead for ACT in collaboratively making decisions about how their funding can be used to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of communities in and around North East Essex, both by supporting impactful projects/services and by identifying further investment and fund-raising opportunities.

 

What you will do:

  • Oversee the charity’s financial affairs and ensure they’re legal, constitutional, and within accepted accounting practice.
  • Monitor and report on the financial health of the charity.
  • Ensure proper records are kept and effective financial procedures are in place.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage financial audits.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • A background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.
  • Experience with charity finance (preferred, but not essential).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance professionals.
  • A commitment to ACT’s cause and the ability to volunteer your time and expertise.
