Hearing Help Essex is a charity supporting individuals living with hearing loss across Essex by providing a range of services. They have been running a support service to NHS hearing aid users for almost 40 years and are thrilled to announce the expansion of this service to support Halstead residents.

By serving people in their own community, Hearing Help Essex aims to help them feel less isolated, supporting their independence and avoiding having to attend hospital appointments, by providing the routine hearing aid maintenance that they require in a convenient location.

Sophie Ede, CEO, says: “Many people don’t realise that hearing aids need cleaning regularly and that they need retubing every 4-6 months to keep them in good working order. Our Volunteers are trained to assist with essential retubing, cleaning and general hearing aid maintenance for NHS hearing Aid users. We are proud to be bringing this service to the residents of Halstead thanks to valuable support from the team at Halstead Community Shed who have invited us to use their beautiful venue to deliver this service”.

The NHS hearing aid support service will initially run once a month, at the Halstead Community Shed on Fenn Road. Appointments can be booked online via the Hearing Help Essex website, or by calling, emailing, or texting the Hearing Help Essex admin team. The charity will be pleased to offer this service by home visit to those who are housebound in the local area.

They also provide an Information, Advice, and Guidance service in person by appointment, or by phone, video call, text message, or email.

All services are completely free of charge, but as a small charity working hard to support Essex residents living with hearing loss, all donations are appreciated.
