Join us to celebrate the work done by the voluntary and community sector and contribute to the co-production of a community archive!

The valuable work of local community organisations, charities and volunteers too often gets lost. If we can record these experiences, we can help tell the stories that matter.

A community archive is run by and for the community. It can hold all kinds of things that the community values, such interviews with local volunteers, information about a charity’s work or photographs of important local campaigns and events. But community archives don’t just preserve records, they connect people with each other and with their communities in new ways.

If you’re interested in contributing to shaping what Colchester’s own archive of the voluntary and community sector looks like, then please join us for an open discussion on Tuesday 16th July from 10 am to 1pm, Rama House, 31 Eld Lane, Colchester CO1 1LS.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or just want to know more. If you know someone who may like to contribute to the community archive project, please share this message!
