This Level 2 award is a qualification in raising awareness of health and wellbeing and willenable individuals to signpost others to interventions and services to support and motivate themto adopt healthier lifestyles.
This is a three day course assessed by a short multi choice exam.
Learners will be able to:
- Identify the principles of promoting health and wellbeing
- Know how to direct people to makes healthier choices
Identify models of behaviour change
- Deliver a brief intervention to motivate people to change a behaviour
Signpost people to appropriate local agencies for their health need
This award is designed for people who work with the public in either an employed or a voluntary capacity and who have an interest in improving the health of communities andworkplaces.
It is the first step towards becoming a Health Trainer or a Health Champion and is recognised
by the NHS as a good starting qualification for those wishing to become more interested in Public Health.
This course is run by ACE CIC Health Trainers in both Colchester and Tendring venues and is FREE to volunteers.
