ONLINE Having Difficult Conversations

This 2-hour course is designed for people who manage others and wish to develop their leadership skills to improve performance and manage workloads. Issues often arise in the workplace that require leaders to have conversations we find challenging. The workshop considers what these issues are (including inappropriate behaviour, poor performance, silo-mentality, ill-health, furlough, working at home and redundancy). It will cover why we fear these conversations, what can go wrong, and how to have these conversations successful. The session will give participants the opportunity to action plan for the conversations they need to have.

We’ll cover

  • The types of workplace issues that can arise and identifying the need to have a difficult conversation
  • The importance of confronting rather than avoiding issues
  • What can go wrong when we get it wrong
  • Top tips for maximising the success of these conversations
  • Action planning for our own conversations

Benefits to you

You will feel more confident spotting the need to confront an issue, in preparing for difficult conversations and in having them successfully.
