Other organisations we have worked with

Braintree District Mencap Society was formed 60 years ago to help people with a learning disability and their families. Braintree Mencap has a wide membership throughout the Braintree District, and they deliver a wide range of services that are provided by paid staff and volunteers for people with a learning disability, their families and carers. Uttlesford District Council (UDC) has had a long-standing relationship with Voluntary Sector Training (VST) and now Community360 (C360).

Uttlesford is a rural district in north-west Essex including Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow, Stansted Mountfitchet and Thaxted and about 100 villages and hamlets in between. It was in this setting that Voluntary Sector Training was first born in 1999, created with help from a lottery grant.

For many years now, UDC have supported the people working for charitable organisations in the Uttlesford District by providing them with a training bursary, delivered via VST. With UDC’s support, delegates have been able to access our top quality courses for just £25.

Essex Police

C360 have been working with Essex Police in Chelmsford to develop the skills of their special constables. Special constables volunteer their time to undertake regular police duties. By working together, we have delivered accredited courses that support the recruitment and management of volunteers; we have also tailored courses to support and develop professional report writing skills.
