Their special program for 13-15 years old starting tomorrow is full, however, in view of demand, Wilderness Foundation is organizing an additional cohort so that more young people are ready to return to school in September.
Wilderness Foundation is experienced in supporting young people with complex needs and behaviours, who struggle to cope at school and who need a tailored support programme to enable them to do so. The programme provides small group-based work, outdoors using a range of tools, for example, such as bush craft, camp cooking, walks, personal development exercises, wild games with our outdoor educators. For participants who need further help and support, 1-2-1 mentoring can be arranged if needed. Our track record to date shows 71% of our participants re-engaged with schools, positive and significant benefits to our participants with outcomes in school attendance improvement, reducing anti-social behaviour, increased self respect and respect for others, improvement in a connection to nature, amongst a range of others.
