The BFI Film Academy delivered by Signals is working to improve equality and opportunities for those in underrepresented groups. The BFI Film Academy aims to help train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers, supporting talented and committed young people aged 16 – 19 to develop the commercial and cultural knowledge and skills to make a career in film a reality.
The Signals BFI Film Academy is a series of workshops and masterclasses including: writing for screen, acting and directing, lighting/camera, sound and post production. The Academy costs just £25 and bursary places and help with transport/childcare costs are also available.
This course is perfect for anyone who is serious about a career in the film industry. Participants have several opportunities to further their learning through being a member of the BFI alumni, such as NFTS courses, and being mentored by BAFTA nominated directors.
The course is open to all who meet the basic criteria regardless of disability, ethnicity or economic background, all you need is a passion for film!
Signals Academy starts on Saturday the 23rd of October 2021 and continues Saturdays right through to mid-December 2021.
