Stepping Stones Play and Learn Group  Job Description

We are a local charity who for the past thirty years have been offering respite to families who have children with special needs. We need someone to join our happy team who is self-motivated and committed to furthering the interests of disabled children and their families, by seeking funds for us. We offer a flexible approach with an opportunity to work from home. Approximately 10 hrs a week, depending on deadlines. If this is you, then please apply. Job Title:                Funding Administrator


Employer:              Stepping Stones Play and Learn Group


Reporting to:        Nursery Coordinator


Responsible to:    Stepping Stones Play and Learn Group Committee




To obtain core funding to achieve the charities aims and objectives.



To Liaise with the Coordinator with regards to the current funding position and priorities.

To source outside grants for core funding from non-statutory sources, e.g. Charitable trusts, local authorities, checking eligibility criteria.

To complete and submit application forms and any additional information required by the grant provider

To apply for grants only, not fund-raising activities.

The ability to accurately cost a grant bid and liaise with the accountant to ensure all costings adequately cover the project costs.

The ability to meet deadlines, implement grant funders’ requirements and to plan ahead.

To attend necessary meetings regarding the financial needs of the group and those required by grant providers

To liaise on a regular basis with the Nursery Coordinator.


Genuine commitment to furthering the interests of disabled children/young people and their families.

Friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective and positive relationships.


Essential Criteria:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills GCSE c grade and above

Proven experience in securing Core/salary funding applications

The candidate should have the following  : – be self-motivated and work on their own initiative.

Salary  £9 per hour  plus 10% of funding you raise
