Twenty bold and ambitious commitments to help Essex recover from the pandemic and make sure we’re in a strong position to face challenges of the future have been approved by the County Council.
‘Everyone’s Essex’ – Our plan for levelling up the county – was approved by councillors this week. The 20 commitments cover four themes: Economy, Environment, Health and Family.
The commitments including tackling unemployment, which is the highest Essex has seen for 30 years, through working to match training and skills to employment opportunities in the county.
Another goal is halving greenhouse gases in the county over the next ten years, leading to the county becoming carbon neutral by 2050, through speeding up the shift to greener housing, transport and energy.
