Across the organisation we have reviewed our core service activities in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, with the highest consideration for the health and wellbeing of our service users, volunteers, community groups and staff. Like many of our partners we aim to continue to support our local communities, and where possible, will be prioritising our resources to support those who may be vulnerable during this challenging time.

Community360 core service and activities:

Winsley’s House: Now remains only open to staff only. This may also include staff of partner organisations who are long term residents in the building. This is to reduce amount of social contacts for our staff until further notice. All teams are on hand to provide advice, guidance and signposting to relative services where possible. Members of the public and partners can continue to contact us via email and telephone.

One Colchester Hub: Remains closed for group activities and services until further notice. Information on services available in Colchester will be advertised in Hub window and updated on a regular basis.

My Social Prescription: Service continues to run as normal, receiving referrals from the public and partners, with restricted surgery outreach in Colchester. Referrals can still be made via telephone and email with the team conducting a wide ranging mapping activity of key services and activities still operational during this time.

Colchester and Maldon Community Transport: Continues to provide a reduced service for critical passenger trips, such as to healthcare appointments, pharmacy and out of hours hospital discharge. All group trips and excursions have been cancelled until further notice. All members are being contacted by way of a Wellbeing phone call.

Shop mobility: Continues to operate a normal service until further notice.

Voluntary Sector Training: All training has been cancelled both in house and offsite. Those booked onto course will be offered alternative dates and fees carried over with no admin costs.

Community Accounts Service: The accountancy service continues to provide all core services activities unless otherwise instructed by clients. The Essential Living Fund has stopped until further notice.

Colchester & Braintree Community Development Team: All social groups and activities have been postponed until a later date. The Volunteer Centre and Time Bank continues to operate, particularly with consideration for the demand for volunteers during the COVID-19 outbreak and to support our vast volunteer base in the district. If you would like to volunteer or your organisation is in need of volunteers at this time then please get in contact by phone or email.
