This winter, Active Essex, Essex County Council and Thurrock Council delivered the Department for Education’s, Holiday Activity and Food programme. Through this collaboration they ran 236 fun filled clubs, providing more than 26,500 free spaces for children and young people who’re eligible for benefits based free school meals, low income working families and other eligible groups.
Alongside the main Holiday Activity and Food clubs they also delivered 37 festive family experiences, from theatre trips to winter wonderlands, ice skating and delicious hot chocolate!
Following the end of the winter programme, the Essex ActivAte team have been working hard to collect data from delivery partners and receiving feedback from families.

Applications are open until midnight on the 10th February 2023 for organisations to apply and become Essex and Thurrock delivery partners.
