Senior Engagement Officer

Senior Engagement Officer Full-time £28,500 – £30,760

Colchester

 

Supporting the Head of Programmes, the Senior Engagement Officer will lead a team responsible for supporting teams deliver on a variety of programmes including community hubs/cafe, neighbourhoods activities, helping residents to achieve positive outcomes, especially reducing inequalities, loneliness and isolation.  This essential role will include overseeing work which will support neighbourhood groups, including outreach to tackle challenges such as deprivation through partnership working.

 

We would like to see:

 

  • Experience in a similar environment is preferred and the ability to deliver on the strategic and operational demands of a reputable forward thinking charity, be flexible and adaptable to the needs of our changing environment
  • Strong project and team management experience
  • Project support, planning or delivery skills
  • Great interpersonal skills to work with diverse communities
  • Ability to multi-task within a dynamic, fast paced, and changing environment

This role involves leading a small team responsible for: 

 

  • Enhancing opportunities to increase the capacity and sustainability of community groups 
  • Project managing research and support programmes for the voluntary and community sector 
  • Promoting co-operation, joint action, partnership working and exchange of ideas between voluntary organisations and groups and all partners/Stakeholders. 
  • Assisting local community groups to adequately represent themselves in the partnership working process. 
  • Representing Community360 on appropriate local and regional bodies.

This role is based in Colchester and the main duties include processing referrals received either direct or through a wide range of agencies, working with GP practices within primary care networks, pharmacies, multi-disciplinary teams, hospital discharge and many other stakeholders (this list is not exhaustive) to identify the most appropriate service, club or support to meet the needs of the individuals that offer practical, social and emotional support that will improve their health and wellbeing.

You will build relationships with the people you are helping by listening carefully to what is important to them and what motivates them.  You will work individuals, their families and carers to take control of their wellbeing, live independently and improve their health outcomes.

You will bring:

Community Transport

Our Community Transport scheme improves access to services, activities and facilities in both Colchester, Maldon and surrounding villages, for people with limited mobility (be it through permanent or temporary disablement, illness, accident or age).  By doing so, the scheme also tackles isolation and boosts independence.  Lack of accessible transport can be a barrier to disabled and elderly people accessing GP surgeries and other social and welfare facilities.

 

The Position

Are you someone who likes attention to detail and who works to high standards?  Our Logistics Coordinator will manage a team of drivers and schedulers; oversee the daily scheduling of trips and general administration; management of the fleet of minibuses; and administering the smooth running of our furniture delivery project.  All this whilst ensuring policies, procedures and compliance are adhered to.

 

You will bring

·       A positive persona, a ‘can do’ attitude and a flair for people skills

·       Experience of working in a similar environment ideally

·       Excellent and proven IT and written skills to navigate database and Microsoft office applications to meet our requirements for project monitoring and reporting

·       Team leader experience as you will be responsible for the management of the schedulers/administrators and a team of drivers

·       Resilience to work in an extremely busy, fast-paced, and energetic environment

·       Knowledge of minibuses and the legal requirements to ensure they are compliant

·       An interest and willingness in growing our bank of volunteer drivers
